Biography
Sabine Steyer-Violet was born in 1981 and studied Visual Communication with Wim Wenders at the University of Fine Arts in Hamburg and at the Faculdade de Belas-Artes in Lisbon. During and after her studies she shot a cinema documentary (MS. SENIOR SWEETHEART), various documentary contributions for arte and Zdf and at the same time went through all productional stations from setrunner to production manager. In the following years Sabine Steyer-Violet produced TV documentaries for National Geographic and Discovery Channel, European cinema co-productions (e.g. NUIT DE CHIEN), TV series (e.g. BLOCHIN) and music videos in close collaborations with artists such as Tilda Swinton, Christoph Schlingensief and Monika Treut. Sabine Steyer-Violet now focuses exclusively to the creative side of producing, especially to the script- and project development, as a screenwriter, script consultant and creative producer.
In addition, she founded the music consulting company Supertape and supervised numerous projects as music supervisor, such as the TV series BAD BANKS, the Netflix series UNORTHODOX and TRANSATLANTIC or the feature film JACK by Edward Berger.
Sabine Steyer-Violet lives in Berlin, is a mentor for the story development of the Serial Eye program of the DffB and on the board of the MOIN film funding.
