Biography
Constanze Klaue was born in East Berlin and first studied German Language and Literature in Dresden and Jazz Music in Cologne and Osnabrück. She then worked as a writer, copywriter and director for an advertising production company in Cologne, before going to the Academy of Media Arts in 2014 to devote herself entirely to filmmaking. As a freelance writer and director, she writes and directs for film, music and literature alike.
In 2015, her autobiographical essay UNSERE HEIMAT was awarded by the German Society and the Federal Ministry of the Interior and published by Mitteldeutscher Verlag. In 2017/18 she was a scholarship holder at the Academy for Children’s Media and received the Boje-Baumhaus Media Prize for her novel AUSGERECHNET MOPS! The book was published by DTV-Verlag in September 2020 and was reviewed by ZEIT as a “remarkable children’s book debut”.
