Biography
Mareike Engelhardt studied comparative Literature, History of art and Psychology in Berlin, Paris and London before making her first films, filming dancers in the New York underground. She continues to collaborate with choreographers on multi-media dance pieces that are shown worldwide, while making her first fictional short films. Mareike Engelhardt continues to alternate between experimental films and narrative fiction and has worked as an assistant director for, amongst others, Volker Schlöndorff and Roman Polanski. After a screen writing course at “La Fémis” film where she wrote her first feature film RABIA, she wrote a second one as part of Talents Unlimited (UCLA Film School&Vivendi&Cannes Université).
Mareike Engelhardt currently prepares shooting RABIA in 2022.
