Biography
Christina Tournatzẽs is a German-Greek filmmaker based in Munich. She graduated in 2019 with a degree in directing from the Macromedia Academy for Media and Design in Berlin. Her award-winning graduation film Cargo – The Transport was screened at more than 50 festivals worldwide. Her debut feature Karla premiered at the 42nd Munich Film Festival 2025 and won the New German Cinema Award for Best Directing and Best Screenplay and will be released in German cinemas on October 2, 2025.
Through her work, Christina seeks to give a voice and an empathetic stage to people who are often unheard in society. She is particularly drawn to complex, ambivalent characters, as well as to detailed observations of the human and interpersonal—as well as the atmospheric and the unspoken.
She is currently developing her second feature film.
